Is it a problem that the signature for a bank account and on the PAN?

It is not a problem. PAN card is accepted by the Bank only as a means of identification of the customer. While allowing transactions in the account, the customers signature is compared with the one obtained and preserved in the system at the time of opening the account. It should tally with the specimen as per Bank records and then only the debit in the account will be allowed. Banks will not compare the signature with that available in PAN card. If signature on cheque differs substantially, it would be in order for bank to disallow the debit notwithstanding that the signature tallies with the one available in PAN card.
